Natures Natural Horse is an assembly of my 40+ years of experience with the horse as an Equine
Owner, Trainer, Farrier and instructor. My passion has always been the language of the Horse. I

and herd mentality. It is based on learning communication skills derived from wild horse observation in
order to build a relationship that closely resembles the relationships that exist between horses. These

Straight talk from the Farrier on the Natural Balance of the Equine hoof. You hear the phrase
Natural Balance more today than ever, but many Farriers are using it to capitalize monetarily and not
focusing on the true meaning. Natural balance doesn't always fit in todays equine athletes, many
disciplines have special needs that manipulate the natural balance of the hoof. It is best to leave the hoof
in its natural balance, the results are better for the heath of the leg and hoof in the long run. Team
Roping horses are our specialty and as team ropers we want our horses to have that athletic advantage
just as everybody does. We have found through the years it is better to follow the natural balance. It was
typically thought that standing the hoof up made for a faster break-over and gave the timed event horse
an advantage. After months of shoeing like this, the horse won't last, he will actually become sore in the
joints and become slower. We have been roping and shoeing roping horses for many years now and

like us need these services. The harder a horse
works the more need for the service. I was amazed
to see all our Team Roping and Ranch Horses were
in need of Chiropractic work. Cutting horses are
another athlete in need of regular adjustments.
When a horse is in his optimal state he is more
willing to work and learn. Massage is a great way to
end a stressful work out and can be done by the
owner. Chiropractic work should be done by a
professional and scheduled into your yearly
medical work.
